Karen R. Porter / Mays Landing, NJ
(Suicide Ruining The Novel)
The dead man narrates
while the losers
take their turn
contemplating suicide.
Two
whole chapters,
days or years to go
before a choice, something
to nudge the undecided.
If
you’re going to do it,
do it. Stop talking about it.
No one likes a windbag’s
hollow promises, empty threats.
Pick
one - knife, gun,
poisoned sugar plum,
pudding with ground glass,
some antique elixir.
OD on
pain killers,
slice into an artery,
jump inside a compactor,
snuggle with a shark.
Point
is, no one cares,
not really. So go on and
get it over with. Let the rest of us
try to figure out the ending.
